The Liverpool manager spoke about referee Anthony Taylor's performance

Jürgen Klopp was pleased with Liverpool's win over Manchester City. The German coach highlighted the performance of Mohamed Salah and also his defenders after beating the City side. He also referred to his dismissal near the end of the game. 'Mo played an absolutely outstanding game. The goal was world class. I was asked if I think we were lucky because Cancelo missed and I didn't see a player missing the ball, I saw a player using his body extremely well, who knew how to position himself and define excellently one-on-one in front of the goalkeeper,' the coach said of the Egyptian player.

On the performance of his defence, he said: 'Our defensive line had their best game so far this season. It was very good, their performance was almost perfect, that's the way we have to defend. He also made mention of his sending off. "It's about emotion. I overdid it at the time. The red card was my fault. It's not right, but how can you miss that foul? I would like an explanation," he commented

In his worst season for Liverpool, Mohamed Salah has already surpassed a Reds legend

"I don't think I was disrespectful to anyone, but when you look at the pictures from the back, I know from my 55 years of life that the way I look right now is worth a red card," added the coach, who missed the final minutes of the game. He also had words for Diogo Jota, who was stretchered off and was unable to complete the match. "I saw it from the side on the screen, I'm the first one who saw it. When I saw him go down and there wasn't much contact, you could see that someone kicks his foot and maybe the muscle was stretched too much, that's not good for the muscle. He felt it right away and now we have to wait to see how bad it is," he concluded.

Liverpool were coming into the matchday on the back of a big Champions League win, but were struggling in the English Premier League. City, meanwhile, were trying to keep up their momentum so as not to lose ground on league leaders Arsenal, who defeated Colombian Luis Sinisterra's Leeds on Sunday. Without 'Lucho' Diaz, as the Colombian is recovering from a serious injury, the Reds took to the field to make their stadium respected and give the fans the joy of defeating the team that many consider the main candidate to repeat the title this season.

The first half was very even as expected. Both teams tried to impose themselves on their opponents, but in the end they ended up neutralising each other. However, it seemed that the home team was the one that was looking for the goal more and therefore could be closer to the victory. In the second half Mohamed Salah had two clear chances to open the scoring, but was unable to do so. And this could have been costly for Liverpool, as after a wasted move by the Reds' striker, Manchester City found the goal that silenced the stadium and had the away fans celebrating.
