Since the end of the 2022-2023 season, Jürgen Klopp has reportedly decided that Liverpool needs to reinforce in various sectors of the pitch, which is why he has asked the board for a large budget for the summer transfer window, and although the top priority would be to strengthen the midfield, Klopp would also have in mind to reinforce other positions.

For now, Liverpool have managed to finalize the arrival of two players. Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are the Reds' new reinforcements, and both arrive with great expectations on their shoulders, as they are two of the most promising young players in the world and Liverpool's board spent 112 million euros between the two signings.

However, everything seems to indicate that Liverpool will not be satisfied with these two acquisitions, as various reports suggest that another priority for Jürgen Klopp is to sign a new central defender, because although Virgil van Dijk is still one of the best defenders in the world, last season the defense of our team was not very solid.

In that sense, the Reds have been rumored to have several targets on the radar, but it seems that the one Klopp likes the most is 20-year-old English defender Levi Colwill, who currently belongs to Chelsea and is valued at €30 million, according to the Transfermarkt portal, and despite the fact that the Blues do not seem to have any intention of selling him, the player might think differently regarding his continuity in London.

The reason why Colwill would want to leave Chelsea

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Levi Colwill has refused to sign a contract extension with Chelsea because the club does not guarantee him the playing time he wants, something that would be practically guaranteed at Liverpool, as Klopp would consider him a key player in the team's scheme.
