Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has been focused on bringing in reinforcements to shore up the squad ahead of next season when he expects the Reds to do better than last season's failure to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Since the end of the 2022-2023 season, both Jürgen Klopp and the Anfield board have reportedly decided that signing new midfielders would be a top priority, particularly after the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. That's why the signing of Alexis Mac Allister, who arrives from Brighton after a fantastic season, was swiftly completed.

The Reds' second signing was Dominik Szoboszlai, for whom the board paid 70 million euros to RB Leipzig. The 22-year-old Hungarian midfielder is the team's second signing, but various media reports claim that he will not be the last, as it has been reported that Liverpool are looking for one more midfielder and at least one defender.

In that sense, the list of targets that Jürgen Klopp has is quite extensive, however everything seems to indicate that the delay of the Reds board could cost the team dearly, as now Klopp could have been left without one of his main targets in the transfer market. We are talking about Micky van de Ven, the Wolfsburg centre-back who could now be on his way to another Premier League club.

Micky van de Ven's next destination

According to Liverpool FC News, the Tottenham board have already reached an agreement to sign Micky van de Ven, who would be a new Spurs player for the next five years. Micky van de Ven was one of Klopp's main targets to reinforce the team's defence.
