At 18 years of age and recently arrived at Lecce, Patrick Dorgu's good performance has not gone unnoticed by FC Barcelona, who are looking for a full-back to complement Alejandro Balde. However, both Liverpool and Manchester City have also turned their attentions to the Danish talent.  Arrived in the summer of 2022 to reinforce Lecce's youth team, Patrick Dorgu has grown with the Salento side to become an important part of the first team. The southern side confirmed this summer his purchase from FC Nordsjaelland of the Danish First Division in an operation that has been a success for Pantaleo Corvino, Lecce's sporting director and one of the men with the best eye in Italy.

Having made nine appearances for Lecce this season, including one assist, Roberto D'Aversa was full of praise for the Danish full-back: "Dorgu has enormous potential, he's a 2004 player and, in my opinion, he can make it at a top club. From the first day of training, he always makes me wonder whether to start or not. At his age that means something, he's a well-rounded kid with a bright future. The club has done well to take a player and let him grow up in the youth system".

His great performance at the age of 18 has not gone unnoticed by the big teams on the continent. In that sense, as FourFourTwo points out, the young player is on the agenda of FC Barcelona. Despite having another pearl in the form of Alejandro Balde, Barça are looking to double their positions all over the pitch, and are already looking for a player of the future to replace Marcos Alonso, who is a free agent at the end of the season.

But the Catalans, who did business with Lecce for Samuel Umtiti on loan in 2022, will have competition. Both Liverpool and Manchester City have shown interest in the left-back, whose contract with Lecce expires in 2027. A situation that complicates the Spanish side's intentions. Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp's interest is increasing after Andy Robertson's injury during the international break, which will keep him out for several weeks due to a dislocated shoulder.
