According to experts, Naby Keita is in negotiations for a new contract with Liverpool, but the midfielder is unhappy, which has stalled talks with the club, and there is even talk that this was the reason Jurgen Klopp did not field him against Crystal Palace.
Liverpool have no intention of letting Naby Keita leave before the close of the transfer window and are still negotiating a new contract with the midfielder. The Guinea international has entered the final 12 months of his current contract at Anfield, and negotiations over an extension have so far failed to reach a resolution.
Reports in Germany have suggested the 27-year-old is unhappy with the situation, but others claim there is interest from a number of European clubs, including RB Leipzig, although Liverpool's plan is to keep Keita, both this season and beyond.
The Reds boss spoke to Sky Sports ahead of the new Premier League season, which Liverpool have started with two draws: "If nobody wants to leave, we're finished. Or if there's a serious injury. I don't expect it. But Liverpool fans can start to focus on other things.
Asked if any players like Keita could leave before the deadline day of 1 September, Klopp added: "Have I ever spoken in situations like this about it? You get the results, not the process!".
