Defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip will be out for between two and three weeks, absences that compound Liverpool's injury crisis. Alexander-Arnold was substituted at half-time in the defeat to Arsenal with an ankle problem following a tackle by Martinelli, while Matip, replaced in the second half by Ibrahima Konaté, is suffering from a calf injury.

Both players will be out for between two and three weeks, joining Colombian Luis Diaz, who is ruled out until December, Arthur Melo, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Andy Robertson, although the latter two have already trained. Both Chamberlain and Robbo could soon be back in contention to help Jürgen Klopp put together a competitive line-up.

Former Liverpool star accuses Klopp of being responsible for Arsenal defeat

Liverpool are struggling to find peace this season: expectations were sky-high after they reached the Champions League final and fought for the Premiership title until the final day with Manchester City. However, Jurgen Klopp's side are struggling to find their way. One of the main factors was the departure of Sadio Mané, who the club still misses and has not been able to replace his goalscoring quota with the arrival of Darwin Núñez, for whom they invested around 100 million euros but still could not open the goal.

But there is no doubt that the main cause of the debacle is that the English team has become an infirmary. First, Luis Diaz's injury was confirmed: the Colombian suffered a knee ligament strain and, although he will not need surgery, he will not be back before the World Cup. And now, two new absentees have been confirmed. Both Trent Alexander Arnold and Joel Matip will be unavailable for two weeks due to physical problems.

Another headache for Jürgen Klopp, who must think about how to shape the team to face Rangers in the Champions League with so many absentees. In addition, none of the players will be available for the weekend's clash with Manchester City. A key match against Pep Guardiola's side, who are unbeaten in the Premier League and with Erling Haaland unbeatable.
