There is no doubt that defender Jarrel Quansah has been one of the biggest and most welcome revelations of the Jürgen Klopp-led squad for the 2023-2024 season, with the England centre-back's market value increasing in a short space of time to the point where his price tag is now comparable to that of some of the Premier League's top players.
Although his skills still need to be honed with more games in the Reds' starting line-up, Jarrel at 20 years of age is already worth 2 million euros, which is only five times the amount of money he earned not so long ago in his time with Bristol Rovers, achieving with this increase in value equal and even surpass players already established in the English circuit and some others who already have a long career in the competition, being the case of Jonny Evans who obtained with Manchester United a contract that almost equalled that of Quansah.
It is true that comparing a Manchester United legend and veteran with a young Liverpool prospect is not as viable and logical at this point in time, but the fact that Jarrel has reached a value of 2 million well ahead of Evans gives much food for thought about the young defender who is already visualising his continued leadership with the Reds, with Quansah firmly aiming to reach his peak in a couple of seasons, causing an inordinate increase in his value that could well surpass that of Jonny Evans who stalled at €15m in his time with West Bromwich Albion in 2018. Evans' long career with Manchester U and the Irish national team has earned him legendary status for both his country and the Red Devils due to his spectacular performances that provided security in the attacking third, winning a host of titles with the Old Trafford outfit to back up his career, with Quansah having a relentless task not only to increase his value but also to leave a legacy with the Merseyside outfit.
With a total of six games played between Premier League, Europa League, EFL Cup and Premier League 2, Jarrel Quansah has managed to get a total of 385 minutes on the pitch, which has earned him the spotlight for Liverpool and their fans who are already hailing him as one of their defensive favourites, providing not only security in the first sector of the pitch but also a great style of play that has already rewarded him with his first assist in the EFL Cup third round clash against Leicester City.
