When the transfer window started it was expected that our Liverpool would be one of the most active teams, and boy has it been, but not in the way we had imagined. Liverpool has been one of the teams with the most departures so far this summer, with 20 players leaving Anfield either as free agents, on loan or on permanent sale.
On the other hand, the board has only managed to sign two new players for the next campaign, in which they will be looking to reverse the great failure of last season, as the team not only failed to win a single title, but also missed out on the next Champions League. In that sense, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are the players who have arrived at the club this summer and although both are very good and there is a lot of excitement to see them debut in the Premier League, Jürgen Klopp is still looking for a couple more reinforcements.
However, it seems that at this stage, we are closer to finalizing a couple more departures rather than announcing the signing of another player. Currently, the Anfield board is in talks with Southampton to sign Romeo Lavia, but it seems that it will not be easy, as the Saints are demanding at least £50 million to sell the 19-year-old Belgian. Although Liverpool have the money to buy him they do not appear to be willing to overpay for such a young player and instead there are reportedly two more Liverpool players very close to leaving Anfield.
According to Mail Sport reporter Simon Jones, Liverpool believe that both Caoimhin Kelleher and Nat Phillips could leave before the summer transfer window closes. The goalkeeper has attracted interest from a number of clubs, while it is unclear whether any club has shown an interest in Phillips. The sales of both players could leave between 15 and 20 million euros.
