Anfield improvements dampened by the break

After the Reds' return to winning ways in the second round of the UEFA Champions League, Jurgen Klopp's side will have a difficult time of it, as the suspension of their game against Chelsea added to the international break in September opens up a 15-day gap without top-level football at Anfield, putting the intensity shown against Ajax on Tuesday to rest.

If the suspension and rescheduling of the games against Wolves and Chelsea are already a threat that still has no clear date of resolution, the rest of an institution that lacks a lot of work on the pitch is another problem for Jugen Klopp, because although these days will be good enough to consider new strategies and correct the style of play, they will also be complicated moments because their rivals will be in action at least this weekend.

The return to the field for the month of October does not promise to be the easiest for the Reds, as they will face a Brighton side eager for three points to keep them firmly in the top half of the table, with the Seagulls having in their favour a good away record with only one game lost and that was a 2-1 defeat to Fulham. The Reds on the other hand are a good home side as they do not know what it is like to lose at Anfield.

With a lot of work ahead of them, the German coach may be able to salvage something positive from all this, as the injured players are gradually returning to training, giving Klopp a greater number of possibilities to make certain tactical modifications. On the other hand, there is a certain improvement gap for those who have not been at their best, as has happened with Darwin Núñez.

Liverpool will play again until October

This international break at the end of September does pose a danger for Liverpool, as Klopp will not be able to have the entire squad at his disposal as some of them will have to travel with their national team for the final preparatory games for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, an international tournament that is still a threat at Anfield after the two games they have pending.
