Liverpool suffered their first Premier League defeat since December, with goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford putting Manchester United 2-0 up. Mohamed Salah headed in to give the visitors hope but they were unable to equalise down the stretch.
After the defeat, German manager Jurgen Klopp spoke about his emotions from the game: "Emotions? We lost. I think that says it all about the emotions I was expecting. That's about it. Very disappointed with the result," he commented.
Asked by reporters if he was concerned about Liverpool's "attitude", the Reds boss said it's not a question that should be asked because both games, against Fulham and ManU, the difference couldn't have been bigger. Perhaps the surprise was in Erik Ten Hag's changes, which were more attacking and purposeful.
Although there were some rumours that it was because Naby Keita's contract has not yet been agreed with the club, Jurgen Klopp spoke about the Liverpool midfielder's injury, after in a strange situation, he did not even come off the bench to be considered for the derby against Manchester United.
"We need more assessment, but it doesn't look like he will be in training tomorrow. But we need more evaluation. It's only Sunday, yesterday, and then if we know more tomorrow, I don't know," the German coach told a news conference after the 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford.
