One of the most pleasing experiences Liverpool have had in recent years has been the Portuguese market, which has benefited the team led by Jürgen Klopp with the arrival of players such as Luis Díaz, who arrived from Porto in January, and Darwin Núñez, who was signed in the summer when he was living his best moments in red but with Benfica.

In the Reds' exhaustive search for a new midfield anchorman, the name of Enzo Fernandez has come up in both England and Portugal, with rumours that the English have already set their sights on the 21-year-old, who for a couple of seasons now has been showing his footballing prowess with teams in his native Argentina and now in European football, making his debut for the Eagles on a couple of occasions at the start of the 2022-2023 season.

Fernandez's quality is undoubted, as before his arrival in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, teams like Wolverhampton from the Premier League, as well as Juventus from Serie A, had tried to get his services, the Reds arriving too late in the fight for the player who is now living his adaptation process in the old continent but in Portuguese lands, delivering great results in Benfica after 13 games played.

The great constancy of Enzo Fernandez in this last year not only took him to European lands and to the highest competitions, but also opened the opportunity to be called by the Argentina national team in these preparation matches that they have against rivals in the Concacaf zone, getting the midfielder more and more followers so that in the future the Portuguese club can get more profit from a possible sale to Liverpool.

The Argentinian's qualities are the perfect example of what Liverpool need right now, as the 21-year-old Enzo has already been named Portugal's player of the month for August, a collateral achievement in his quest for a place in Lionel Scaloni's squad for the World Cup in a few months' time. For now, the player will have to continue working his way with the Portuguese Eagles, trying to maintain that spectacular level that will serve him as a key to a change of scenery in a short time.
