Liverpool's poor start to the Premier League season is taking its toll and they are no longer an attractive prospect for big-name players

Historically, the Reds have always been a magnet for the world's most talented players, with Liverpool having had some of the biggest names to make a name for themselves and mark an era. Recently the name of Kylian Mbappé has been buzzing around the corridors of Anfield, causing excitement among fans who are excited about the signing of a young World Cup winner.

Despite Mbappé's recent outburst to calm the waters following his reported departure from Paris Saint-Germain, things are not looking good for the French champions, with reports in France claiming that the relationship between the 23-year-old striker and Neymar Jr has broken down, with the youngster reportedly asking the board for the Carioca's exit or his own.

"Neymar's surprising renewal was the first of the disappointments for Mbappé and his entourage of family members and lawyers, who have been leaking information ever since," a source close to the former AS Monaco man was quoted as saying by El País. Mbappé, who turned down Real Madrid and chose PSG, has only missed one game of the season with the Parisians, which was Ligue 1 matchday 1 against Clermont.

Signing Mbappé for Liverpool would be to acquire a natural goalscorer, as evidenced by his 14 goals for PSG this term, plus the extra goal he scored for France in the UEFA Nations League on the last FIFA matchday. His high salary of 67 million gross could be the disenchantment for the Pool's board, who would have to 'cash in' with the departure of superstars.

Although the hope of seeing him in red lies in the comments of his uncle Pierre Mbappé, who has advised him that coming to Merseyside would be the best option that could best fit what he is looking for, but the bad results that Klopp's team has been achieving, would be pushing Mbappé away, who according to his inner circle, would never sign for a club without aspirations or with a losing streak.
