In the recent history of Liverpool there was a player who excited all the fans of our team, because we all believed that he could become the next great legend of the club and that he would be the one to lead the project of Jürgen Klopp that would finally return us to the top of world football, and yet he did not want to be an Anfield immortal.

We are talking about Philippe Coutinho, the Brazilian attacker who impressed and dazzled everyone with his enormous talent and great qualities on the pitch, which led him to enter the discussion about whether he could be the one to join Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the best of the time, but unfortunately that never happened.

Coutinho, who was valued at €150 million at the peak of his Liverpool career, betrayed Jürgen Klopp and all the fans when, in the summer of 2018, he asked to leave the club as he wanted to be in a team capable of winning titles and believed Liverpool were not at that level. That was how that year, in exchange for 135 million, he left for FC Barcelona, the team that at the time seemed to dominate Europe.

However, it didn't take long for Coutinho to regret his decision, because in the same season he left, our Liverpool was crowned Champions League champion and on the other hand, he was unable to consolidate his position at Barcelona and suffered several injuries that kept him away and eventually took him out of the club.

Where does Coutinho play today?

Currently Philippe Coutinho belongs to Aston Villa, however it seems that the team no longer wants him and they are looking to sell him. According to various reports, Coutinho has attracted the interest of Besiktas and a Saudi Arabian club, but so far there is no formal offer for him, and he is still not sure what his next destination will be.
