With just over two weeks to go until the end of the summer transfer window, we are still looking for not one, but several reinforcements who can bring in the team to compete for the Premier League title. In that sense, it is no secret that Jürgen Klopp's priority is to sign midfielders, as this summer we have suffered the departure of 5 first team players in that position.

Before the end of last season it was agreed that Liverpool would not renew the contracts of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner, who left as free agents. In addition, Jordan Hendersom who was our captain, and Fabinho who was considered an important starter in Jürgen Klopp's scheme, left Anfield for the Saudi Pro League, leaving a huge hole in the team.

Faced with this, Klopp and the Reds board started looking for at least one or two more midfielders and a few days ago they were about to sign Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo, however in the end both players turned down the opportunity to join the biggest and most important club in the Premier League, leaving the club in a very uncomfortable position as there is now little time left, few candidates and the rest of the teams now know that Liverpool has the money to spend, so the prices of the new targets could rise.

However, it seems that Liverpool will have no choice but to give in to the demands of the clubs that currently own the players that interest Jürgen Klopp, as the failed attempt to sign Romeo Lavia is clear proof that this tactic is not always effective. That is why now, the Anfield board would return for a player who at the beginning of the transfer window was strongly linked with a possible arrival at Liverpool and who is valued at €40 million.

Who is the player?

Several weeks ago, when the transfer window began, one of the most talked-about players to arrive at Anfield was Manu Koné, the 22-year-old French midfielder who plays for Borussia Mönchegladbach. However, an injury he suffered during the summer put an end to the rumors, but now journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Koné is back in training and that Liverpool are interested in him, as are Juventus and PSG, so he has said that Koné will be a player to keep a close eye on in the last days of the transfer window.
