Liverpool's board has made an effort this summer to fulfill the wishes of Jürgen Klopp in terms of signings, and so far they have been able to finalize the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, two players who were priority targets for the German tactician and who are now part of the squad, however it seems that Klopp is not satisfied with that and wants at least two more reinforcements.

It has been reported that of the two reinforcements that Jürgen Klopp has in mind, it would be a central defender and one more midfielder. The top priority at the moment for our coach would be to finish reinforcing the midfield and for that he wants to sign Romeo Lavia, a 19-year-old Belgian defensive midfielder who belongs to Southampton and for whom they have already started talks to sign him.

However, Southampton's asking price for Lavia would be too high for the club's possibilities, as they would be asking for £50 million, while the Reds' idea would be to offer around 40 or 45 million pounds. That is why, according to what has been reported, negotiations have been stalled for days, something that does not suit our Liverpool, as because of that they have stopped paying attention to other possible reinforcements.

The defense area had big problems last season and everything seems to indicate that Jürgen Klopp has the objective of reinforcing it. Since the transfer window began, some names of players that would be on Liverpool's list of possible targets to arrive at Anfield were released, and now because the board has focused on signing Lavia, we would be about to lose the race for one of those players.

The defender who is moving away from Anfield

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham would be very close to sign Micky van de Ven, a 22-year-old Dutch central defender who was strongly linked to Liverpool a few weeks ago and who would have had a strong interest to join the team. However, Klopp would have decided to prioritize other players who might not make it to Anfield and now we could be left without option A or option B.
