Of all the Liverpool players who have been active during this September's FIFA matchday, the vast majority have had an acceptable activity with their respective national teams, being the case of Virgil Van Dijk and Cody Gakpo with the Netherlands, Kostas Tsimikas with Greece and Lucho Diaz with Colombia, being unfortunate that in Friday's activity in the European Championship Diogo Jota could not play, even if only for a few minutes with Portugal.
Given the situation of the match and the complications Portugal were having to beat Slovakia with authority, this seemed to be a perfect scenario for the Reds attacker to come on for the second half, with coach Roberto Martinez preferring not to use him and risking another type of move that in the end gave them a hard-fought 1-0 win.
It seems that Jota's current level is not good enough for the coach in Portugal and Jurgen Klopp himself at Liverpool to take him into account from the start of matches, as it should be noted that, at the Reds, Diogo has been placed as a substitute after matchday 2 in the win against Bournemouth and where the Portuguese was able to score one of the 3 goals that day.
Jota will probably not leave his national team without playing a single minute in this September's squad, being very viable that this attacker could be seen during Monday's match against Luxembourg, being that a golden opportunity to show his coaches in Merseyside and in Portugal how valuable he is every time he gets on the pitch.
