Mohamed Salah did not qualify for the World Cup with his national team, but could still attend Qatar

As per Stad Doha sources, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez will be part of the analysis team on beIN Sports for the 2022 WorldCup. The Egyptian failed to qualify for November's World Cup in Qatar because he lost the play-off to former team-mate Sadio Mané's Senegal. This was a blow for the Liverpool star. But at the end of the day, he will be at the tournament in a different position than he is used to.

As in every edition of the World Cup, there are figures who will not be able to be in the greatest showcase of world football, because they could not secure the pass with their respective national teams. That is why in this case, we will not be able to see Norway's Erling Haaland, Egypt's Mohamed Salah, Gabon's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Slovakia's Jan Oblak, Bosnia's Edin Dzeko, Ivory Coast's Sébastien Haller, Austria's David Alaba, Turkey's Hakan CalHanoglu and Czech Republic's Patrik Schick. Not to mention all the players who play for Italy, who will once again be one of the major absentees in Qatar.

Despite humiliated departure from Anfield, Guardiola is still Klopp's daddy

Salah is the undisputed leader of the Egyptian national team. Despite topping their qualifying group, the last qualifying round pitted them against Mané's Senegal, another African powerhouse and a serious contender in Qatar. At the time still team-mates at Liverpool, one of the two was going to miss out. The coin went in the Senegalese's favour, as it did in the last Africa Cup final, so the Egyptians will not be at Qatar 2022.

At Liverpool, Salah is not the only star who will not be able to play at the World Cup in Qatar. News of player injuries before the start of Qatar 2022 continues. This time, the player involved is Diogo Jota, who has been ruled out with a calf injury sustained against Manchester City. The current Reds striker will not be present and could join several other players in the Portugal squad.

Salah will be in Qatar

The news that Mohamed Salah will indeed make the trip to Qatar to attend several matches as an analyst for a Qatari television station will leave him out of Liverpool's pre-season tour of Dubai during the same period. On that trip, the Reds will have friendly matches that will be used by injured players such as Luis Diaz to recover their fitness and footballing form.
