This was reported by Turkish international transfer specialist Ekrem Konur, who said that Liverpool would not let Diaz go in the winter window:

"Real Madrid and Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Luis Diaz's situation, but Liverpool will reject offers for the Colombian winger in January". So both Catalans and Merengues will have to wait in line until the summer transfer window, where they could see an opportunity depending on how Luis is performing by then. One of the main reasons why the British side are not letting the Cafetero go at the end of the year is because he is central to the squad's main objectives for the season, which include the club's return to the Champions League, the Europa League championship and winning the domestic league titles.

Within manager Jürgen Klopp's game plan, Diaz appears to be one of the men in the starting eleven consistently and without yet having a player who can fill in for him in his position, the Anfield management will not let the Colombian go. Furthermore, in six months' time, depending on the performance of the Barrancas native, the value of his contract could increase considerably, allowing the English side to ask the Spaniards for more money if they want to take him. Diaz is currently valued at 75 million euros according to the specialist market portal Transfermarkt, and by the end of the year he could be worth as much as 75 million.
