Christmas present for Klopp, Luis Diaz recovers early, so will play against Aston Villa

Luis Diaz only thinks about recovering and his Liverpool team-mates back him "Every one of us will be there for him". The Colombian will be out for several months and many of his team-mates lament the relapse in his injury. The Colombian will be out for Liverpool until March.

One of the most sensitive losses for Liverpool is that of Luis Diaz. The Colombian had been one of the most regular starters in Jürgen Klopp's team and had been consolidating himself as one of the key players in the Reds' game plan, however, the injury has had a great impact on the club and it is expected that the winger will be able to return to the pitch in about three months.

The Colombian attacker suffered an injury on 9 October when Liverpool visited Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League. In that game the Colombia winger had already reported with an assist; however, on 40 minutes of the first half he suffered a collision with Themas Partey, which led him to be substituted and, subsequently, a knee injury was confirmed. The player was sidelined for just under two months when he was again seen training with the team.

It was by early December that some details of Luis Diaz's recovery were revealed and he was well on the road to recovery. The player joined the team's training camp and took part in the practices that took place in Liverpool. The Colombian was present in the list of players who travelled to Doha in order to prepare for the resumption of the season, however, some discomfort in his knee forced him to be sent back to the UK and there it was confirmed the relapse in his injury and he had to undergo surgery again.

Luis Díaz has not played since October

The player will now miss several key matches in both league and cup competitions, and is even in doubt for the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie against Real Madrid, which takes place in mid-March. The loss of Díaz is a sensitive one for the club; however, the Colombian has had the support of several of his teammates who are encouraging him and backing him in his recovery.
