Fabinho's departure from Liverpool to Al-Ittihad after five successful years at the club has finally been made official. The 29-year-old Brazilian defensive midfielder leaves Anfield and leaves £40 million in the club's pockets, but Fabinho's departure is not the only bad news for Reds fans.
In addition to Fabinho's departure, Jürgen Klopp and the Anfield board have learned this day of a news that frustrates one of the most desired moves by the German tactician for several weeks, as Fabrizio Romano and other media have confirmed that the 20-year-old English central defender has reached an agreement for 6 more years with Chelsea.
Levi Colwill was one of Jürgen Klopp's big targets to reinforce the team this summer, as the Liverpool manager considered Colwill to be the ideal heir to Virgil van Dijk in the club's long-term project, however the London club's board was always unwilling to negotiate a sale for the player and now they have managed to sign a contract extension that takes him away from the club for at least a while.
This summer has not gone as many expected in terms of signings for our Liverpool. It was believed that we would be one of the most active teams in the summer transfer market, but so far we have only managed to get two reinforcements, and in return 11 players have left Anfield and we have only got £52.7 million in return. In addition, a number of targets such as Levi Colwill have slipped through our fingers and there is now less and less time and fewer and fewer players left to strengthen the club.
