Since its opening in 1884, the Anfield stadium has been characterised as a unique and special stage. How many magical nights have we had at this world heritage site, legends and icons of world football have stepped on the hallowed ground, which has also been the scene of great concerts and for many is a unique place. New times and technology are forcing football venues to modernise, and Anfield will be no exception.

Next year The new Anfield Road Stand will open next August with an extra 7,000 seats lifting capacity to around 61,000 and bolstering matchday income. New fans arriving on Merseyside will not only be treated to a first class spectacle, but will also enjoy all the comforts, an incredible view and first class service, every time the Red's play at home. The experience will be unique.

Work began last September, where a team of experts will ensure that Anfield will welcome an additional 15,967 fans, bringing the total number of people cheering on the Island's top team to 61,015. Liverpool's annual revenue is set to exceed £600m when the next set of accounts are published. This income will help with maintenance costs, paying administrative staff, extras and other expenses that could be prevented and recouped at The Pool.
