In stoppage time, with Crystal Palace all wrapped up and calling time on the clock, young Harvey Elliott picked up the ball and struck the post to complete Liverpool's ninth comeback of the season, beating the Eagles 2-1 and taking them top of the Premier League. The Reds, who played the last 20 minutes with an extra player, overturned Jean-Philippe Mateta's early goal with Mohamed Salah's rebound and Elliott's wonder strike. As was the case last week against Fulham, Liverpool needed a late miracle to take all three points.
This time, the miracle came in the form first of a red card for Jordan Ayew, which wiped out Roy Hodgson's side's great game to that point and gave Jürgen Klopp's side a chance to mount a comeback. Until the 76th minute, when the African striker was sent off for a double yellow after cutting out a counter-attack in midfield, Palace had been the better side and had dominated Liverpool's attack.
Palace, who had been missing since the 2-1 scoreline, had one last thread of life late in stoppage time, when Alisson pulled down Anderse's header from a yard out. The Brazilian's save sealed the game and sent Liverpool top of the Premier League on 37 points, one ahead of Arsenal and five ahead of Aston Villa. Manchester City, with a game in hand, are seven points behind the Anfield outfit. The Reds have come from nine games down this season and have taken 18 points from that.
with these great performances, the midfielder's valuation has grown and he is currently valued at 35 million which puts him above world stars such as Luka Modric or Toni Kroos who are Real Madrid stars, but who are now surpassed by the Liverpool player who is set to be the star of the team.
