Mohamed Salah's Future at Liverpool Remains Uncertain Amid Al-Hilal's Huge Offer

The 32-year-old has been in exceptional form this season, scoring 22 goals and providing 17 assists in all competitions. His contributions have helped Liverpool climb to the top of the Premier League and the Champions League.

However, with Salah's future at Liverpool still uncertain, the forward has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. In September 2023, Liverpool rejected a £150 million bid from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad for the Egyptian international. The offer was worth over £100 million, with add-ons bringing it to £150 million. Recently, reports have emerged that Al-Hilal has offered Salah a lucrative two-year contract worth £65 million as he is set to become a free agent in the summer.

Keith Wyness, former CEO of Everton, has suggested that Liverpool may not want to match Al-Hilal's reported offer, and believes the decision now lies with Salah about what he wants to achieve on the pitch.

"I don't think Liverpool will want to match the Saudi offer, given Salah's age," Wyness said on the Football Insider Insider Track podcast. "Al-Hilal has come out with huge numbers. It’s not just about the football figures, but also the status he would have in Saudi Arabia. But I don’t think it’s a money issue because there’s only one winner in that case.

"It’s a matter of what he wants to do on the pitch. Does he want to break more records at Liverpool? It will all come down to what he wants football-wise."
