Amid the crisis at left-back, Liverpool are targeting this player as a possible solution

Amid the crisis at left-back, Liverpool are targeting Fulham's Antonee Robinson as a possible solution. With Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas currently injured, Joe Gomez has been forced to fill in at left-back, leaving Liverpool with limited options in that position. Robertson's situation could extend for another month, and there is still no return date for Tsimikas. Given this situation, Liverpool could be forced to make a move in January to strengthen at left-back, with Antonee Robinson presenting himself as a viable option.

The report reveals that Liverpool have contacted Fulham to explore the availability of Robinson, who, at 26, would consider a move to Liverpool as a significant step in his career. Although it is unclear whether the transfer would be permanent or a loan, Robinson, currently Fulham's undisputed first-choice starter, is "open" to joining Liverpool. Robinson, a former Everton youth player, has an outstanding record of 128 appearances, three goals and nine assists for Fulham. Capped 39 times by the United States, his versatility and experience could prove valuable to Liverpool.

The subplot adds an interesting element as Robinson is a former Everton youth player, although he never played for the first team before being sold to Wigan Athletic in 2019. Since then, he has forged a successful career at Fulham and could get the chance to play in UEFA competitions with Liverpool.

Robinson is worth 20 million

As Robertson and Tsimikas recover from injuries, the question arises as to where Robinson would fit into the Liverpool hierarchy. Although Robertson, a regular starter, is under contract until 2026, Liverpool could be looking at Robinson as a possible long-term successor. Alternatively, the club could address the short-term shortage of left-backs by recalling Owen Beck from his loan spell in Scotland with Dundee, a decision that would require a careful assessment of the pros and cons in relation to the team's needs and the player's development.
