Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has cast doubt on his future at Liverpool, revealing that he has not been approached by the club to renew his contract, which is set to expire in 2025.
"It's not up to me," Salah said in a recent interview, suggesting that the decision to stay at Anfield is in the hands of the club's board. "I love Liverpool and the fans, but in football, things change quickly."
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Salah's future, newly appointed Liverpool manager Arne Slot expressed optimism about the attacker's future at the club. "Salah is an exceptional player and crucial to our team. I'm counting on him to stay at the club for many years," said the Dutch coach.
According to sources close to the club, Liverpool's board has already started preparations to present a contract renewal offer to Salah. The idea is to extend his deal by two more seasons, keeping the Egyptian at Anfield until 2027.
Renewing Salah's contract is considered a priority for the board, who are looking to ensure the continuation of the successful project that has been built in recent years. Keeping the attacker would be a huge boost for the team, both on and off the pitch.
Liverpool fans are anxiously awaiting news about Salah's future. The attacker has become a fan favourite and his departure would be a huge blow to the club. On social media, fans have expressed their concern and urged the board to do everything possible to keep the player at Anfield.
