The Egyptian is celebrating but also defining his future

The Egyptian is celebrating but also defining his future

No one can deny that Mohamed Salah is one of the best footballers in the world and probably the most outstanding player on the African continent. However, the Egyptian proved he is not infallible when, playing for his national team, he missed an unbelievable goal, even more so as one of the stars of the Premier League.

Egypt were facing Guinea in the fifth round of qualifying for the African Cup of Nations, in which only a few countries from the continent participate due to these qualifiers that work as a filter. While Salah's side is one of the clear dominants of African football, even Mohamed himself struggled for a moment.

Egypt were 1-0 down away and, in their search for an equaliser, the left-footed player had his chance. After a team-mate's shot, the goalkeeper took a short rebound to the side, where Salah was standing just in front of the goal. Unmarked by any defender, with the keeper on the ground, in the six-yard box and with an empty net, the Liverpool man put his foot down low and shot over the top. Unbelievable. However, Egypt settled into the game and with goals from Trezeguet and Mostafa Mohamed won 2-1. Egypt now have 15 points in the play-offs and are safely through to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Happy Birthday

Our Pharaoh is celebrating his 31st birthday this Thursday, although he will also be busy as Get French Football News reported that he will be meeting with PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi in Morocco to discuss his future, as the French side are looking for a replacement for Lionel Messi and the Liverpool striker is the perfect choice.
