One of the two would leave Liverpool to make way for the vacancy

Micky Van de Ven, Wolfsburg's Dutch centre-back, is considered in his country as one of the great hopes to take over from Virgil Van Dijk. So much so, in fact, that his good performances have spread beyond the borders of the Bundesliga and Premier League giants Liverpool have made a bid for his signature.

Liverpool's German coach has fallen in love with the Dutchman's versatility. Klopp also likes the range of tactical solutions Van de Ven can offer. Why? Because he can play as a centre-back in both a back four and a back three, as well as at left-back. Moreover, he is seen within the KNVB as the successor to Virgil Van Dijk.

In addition to his versatility, Van de Ven has been noted for his consistency and would be worth around 40 million. This is because he has played every minute of the season for his club Wolfsburg this season. That said, he will not be an easy signing for Liverpool to make. Why? This is because Van de Ven, who is represented by Raffaela Pimienta, has a contract with the German club until 2027. In other words, Wolfsburg would have the upper hand in hypothetical negotiations and would ask Liverpool for an exorbitant amount to give the green light to the player's departure.

<strong>Goodbye</strong>

While Joe Gomez and Joel Matip were presented this Saturday at the start of pre-season, their continuity would not be certain because there are other clubs interested in Van de Ven, such as Tottenham. However, all eyes of the Dutch centre-back are on Liverpool as he wants to fight for the Premier League title under Jürgen Klopp.
