The time has come for one of the Red's stars to leave

The month of July has begun, and with it, Liverpool's stars are just a few days away from the start of the 23/24 pre-season, where Klopp's charges will have four games ahead of the Premier League matchday 1, which will be against Chelsea on 13 August at Stamford Bridge. The German coach will have a full squad for that fixture.

But before this clash, Jurgen Klopp and FSG will have to make room for those who are no longer in the squad, as is the case of Joe Gomez, who despite being part of the team that won it all a couple of years ago, today his situation is very different, and according to Mail Sports, the Englishman could leave this summer.

Joseph Gomez came through the ranks at Charlton Athletic in 2014, remaining there for just one season as Liverpool scouts spotted a player with potential. The Red's brought to Anfield the defender who completed his training in the U23 team, which was complemented by The Tree Lions at U17, U19 and U21.

Fans react to Gomez's decision

He spent three years with the national team from 2017 to 2020. The fans hoped that Gomez could take off in recent seasons, becoming a benchmark in the bottom half, but with the low level presented, Klopp would take the decision to leave him out of the team, hoping that Joe could find his own team.
