Real Madrid, especially now that the end of the first half of the season is approaching, are approaching the transfer market. Not with the aim of securing the signing of a player, but to keep track of some players placed on the list of potential players. One of the most well-known, although it is true that he does not represent a priority, has already attracted the attention of other elite clubs.

Because the footballer who is in the mix at the top of the white team is none other than Rayan Cherki. The French attacking midfielder from Olympique de Lyon, known for being one of Zidane's latest recommendations, has developed in Ligue 1. For some time now he has gained ground to leave the French team during the last summer markets.

Not only in the direction of Real Madrid, always looking to expand its roster of midfielders for some time now. The information published by 'FootMercato' leaves two more teams on the long list of suitors to acquire the services of Rayan Cherki in the coming summers: PSG and Liverpool.

The interference of both clubs, both the English and the French, considerably complicates any approach projected from the offices of Valdebebas. In addition to a difficult competition to overcome by the Merengue executives, especially in the economic field, it is also important to consider the aspect of competitive priorities.

Right now, the closest focus for Real Madrid's signings is in the midfield... but not in the offensive category. Because the retirement of Toni Kroos has left a void in the first team, very noticeable at times this season, which the board of directors wants to fill as soon as possible.

The most suitable signing to do so, following the profile of a creative defensive midfielder, is Martín Zubimendi. The Real Sociedad pivot, against all odds, does not offer an easy transfer for two reasons. The first is his termination clause, set at 60 million euros: that figure opens the debate regarding other more affordable possibilities.

At the same time, the presence of Liverpool itself as a candidate to sign Martín Zubimendi opens up alternatives for the Spanish footballer. Whatever the case, Real Madrid will be kept informed of any move Rayan Cherki may make in the summer of 2025.

Especially if there is an exit from their roster of forwards. Because Endrick's future as a Real Madrid player, after the lack of prominence he is having this season, places him as a player to offer on loan. Cherki would arrive to maintain balance in the squad and offer more alternatives to Carlo Ancelotti.
