Cristiano Ronaldo , once again, in this case in conversation with journalist Eduardo Aguirre (who on social media and in Georgina Rodríguez's reality show revealed that he is a friend of the Portuguese footballer) said that he feels like the best of all time , mainly because of how complete he is with his game and the number of official goals he has scored (with the double he scored last Monday against Al Wasl on matchday 7 of Group B AFC Champions League he reached 923 goals).

His statements, as expected, rekindled the eternal debate about who is the greatest in the history of the king of sports . There were opinions for and against, such as that of Jamie Carragher , a Liverpool legend, who currently works as a panelist for the British channel Prime Video.

“ It's shameful... When a player like Cristiano Ronaldo at his age starts organising interviews with his friends just to talk about other leagues, coaches and players, that's a sign of insecurity ,” said the man who was a centre-back for the England national team at the 2006 World Cup in Germany and 2010 in South Africa.

Along the same lines, Carragher criticised: “He is one of the greats and he doesn’t have to do interviews every month to say it himself. All the interviews are planned in advance and you know the questions he will be asked. It is ridiculous that he has let his friends pressure him into saying these things.”

To conclude, he could not help but point out the difference between Cristiano Ronaldo's usual speech and that of Lionel Messi : " I have seen Messi's interviews and he always only talks about his family, his clubs in the past and present and the national team ."

Cristiano Ronaldo turns 40 on February 5th

Cristiano Ronaldo turns 40 this Wednesday, February 5. And although he has already admitted that he knows that retirement is not that far away, in the same interview with La Sexta he warned that he plans to play for “one or two more years.” Therefore, it is practically a fact that he will play in the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada , almost at 41 and a half years old , as long as Roberto Martínez takes him into account to form the Portugal National Team.
