Here's why Endo could be more valuable to Liverpool than Haaland to Manchester City

The changes have been fabulous for the development of this season on Merseyside

At Liverpool the team remains very focused, so it has remained a solid team, if not a spectacular team, it is a serious team that delivers. To a large extent this has been due to the fact that many players have given their best and continue to improve, such is the case of Wataru Endo, who in the month of December ended up demonstrating his level.

The Reds midfield appears to be complete with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai quickly earning their place in the starting line-up and showing excellent quality. Despite this, the third midfielder had yet to be found, as Wataru was adapting and did not look ready for the big job. It was only a matter of time before the Japanese player cleared all doubts about his level.

It was a very smart move, as Klopp has found the player who gives more stability to the team. So this signing can be as valuable as Erling Haaland, as it was the Norwegian who has ended up making that big leap with the Citizens to be able to win the titles last season. So Wataru is now proving to be that player with the Reds.

The Japanese has played 25 games for the Reds, totalling 1376 minutes, earning a place as a starter, being a leader of the team. Endo has also given much more security to the team in the defensive zone, as he is a player who makes the opposition uncomfortable and does not let them play. So the Japanese is the player the Reds needed. He brings as much or more value to the Reds as Haaland does to the Citizens, because of the leadership Endo has taken and the place Liverpool are in.

What is the key to Wataru being at such a high level?

Wataru's current form makes it clear that he is the player that was needed on Merseyside, but this has been thanks to the patience of both Wataru Endo and Jürgen Klopp, who have worked hard. Endo's work was recognised with the player of the month award, to which the Japanese responded with gratitude to the fans and what he will continue to do as he responded on social media after his award "Thank you always for supporting me @LFC Fans. I will continue to do my best. So Endo will continue to work and improve.
